We do not have a single case where ANY weapon, whether it was a knife, sword, hammer, bat, axe, screwdriver, automobile or firearm killed another person of “its” own volition. Let that sink in a bit; reread it if needed.

We used to be able to discern that these actions are attributable to the perpetrator and not inanimate objects; those days are gone. If we listen to those capitalizing on the latest tragedy to advance their political agenda of gun control, it seems that society needs to be somehow responsible for homicidal killers. These political hacks and their disciples need to grow up. That is a fantasy put out by the left to push a faulty agenda. There has not been a single piece of gun control legislation proposed that could have prevented ANY of the latest tragedies.

Other countries have strict gun control laws and outright “bans” (UK & Australia) and are still killing fields. Obama recently said gun massacres don’t occur in other “civilized” nations. That statement sums up his experience and qualification on this topic. A truly cursory search shows that since 2010, Obama’s second year in office, mass killings have occurred in at least 10 civilized nations just in Western and Central Europe. These incidents have resulted in the deaths of about 160 people. Scores more were seriously injured.

The most notorious of these mass murders occurred in Norway in 2011. Anders Breivik, a self-proclaimed anti-Muslim militant, set off a van bomb targeting government buildings in Oslo, then went to a nearby summer camp and shot 69 children to death.

In January of this year, in France, a series of terrorist attacks collectively called the Île-de-France attacks caused the deaths of 14 people. Among the victims were several employees of the satirical newspaper Charlie Hebdo.

In February 2015, a 63-year-old gunman, Zdeněk Kovář, killed nine people at a restaurant in small town in the southeastern corner of the Czech Republic. Police described the man as mentally ill.

The same month, gunmen opened fire in a Copenhagen, Denmark café, killing one person. Like the incidents in France, the Copenhagen event was related to artists attempting to render images of Muhammad, Islam’s prophet.

In 2013, 59-year-old Ljubiša Bogdanović killed 13 people and tried to kill his wife during a shooting spree in a tiny town in Serbia. Most of the victims were the killer’s family members. He killed them as they were sleeping. One victim was a two-year-old child. Locals described Bogdanović, a war veteran.

Also in 2013, Muslim radicals Michael Adebowale and Michael Adebolajo, hacked British soldier Lee Rigby to death with meat cleavers while unarmed bystanders looked on.

So, that’s more than a minor oversight or “mis-speak” by the Liar-in-Chief, Obama.

Everyone wants to put an end to these tragedies, but no one wants to get their hands dirty with the facts. A single assassin is almost impossible to stop when he or she is unknown to law enforcement agencies. It’s not unlike the situations with Martin Luther King or George Wallace or Ronald Reagan. Their attackers were all single individuals who acted alone. It’s almost impossible to stop. Ronald Regan had a secret service detail surrounding him that was dedicated to protecting him AND HE STILL GOT SHOT. The White House has a dedicated security detail to keep the grounds secure, but individuals still get on the grounds and even to restricted areas inside the White House. If you want to protect yourself, your family and/or your home, perhaps it is time YOU took some responsibility for that.

As we Father’s celebrate ourselves today, I wonder if there was a way to insure that an ultra-rare, but regularly occurring, disease did not strike our children, would all fathers step up and do whatever it took to safeguard their family? Take responsibility for your life and the lives of your family members. Value those lives enough to take whatever steps necessary to protect them. Personal safety is a personal responsibility.
